inp.polri.go.id - Gorontalo. The Head of Public Relations of the Gorontalo Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Desmont Harjendro, emphasized the need for all police personnel to be wise and responsible in using social media.

During a morning roll call at the Gorontalo Regional Police headquarters, he emphasized that social media has now become a public space that not only conveys information but also reflects the image and professionalism of the police. Therefore, all personnel are expected to use social media positively and refrain from posting anything that could create negative public perceptions.

"As part of the Indonesian National Police institution, we must maintain the dignity and authority of the organization, including in our online activities. Use social media for beneficial and educational purposes instead," he said on Monday (7/21/2025).

In his statement, he also reminded members not to upload provocative content, spread hoaxes, or display lifestyles that do not reflect the ethics of police members.
He stated that social media can be a unifying tool or, conversely, a source of conflict if not used wisely.

In closing, he encouraged Gorontalo Regional Police personnel to serve as role models and promote digital literacy in the workplace and in the community. This way, the National Police's presence in the digital world can have a positive impact and strengthen public trust.
