Inp.polri.go.id - Bandung. The Bandung Sub-regional Police force has been gearing up to deploy a contingent of 1,700 personnel to secure the upcoming U-17 World Cup, scheduled to commence on November 10, 2023.
Senior Superintendent Kusworo Wibowo, the Bandung Police Chief, has explained that despite the extensive preparations, a cross-sectoral coordination meeting for the event has yet yet to be convened.
"We will be coordinating with the Bandung Regency administration and the management of Si Jalak Harupat Stadium," he said on Thursday (26/10/2023).
Chief Kusworo highlighted the primary responsibility of the police, which was to maintain security outside the stadium's perimeter. The police have also been working on a plan for transporting supporters, taking into account the parking restrictions in the vicinity of the stadium.
"We will be stationed outside because the stewards will be responsible for activities inside," he added.
The Police Chief stressed that spectators intending to attend matches at the stadium will be required to park their vehicles at specified locations, namely Gedong Budaya Sabilulungan and Lapangan Upakarti. To facilitate this, shuttle buses provided by the Bandung Regency administration will be available for their transportation to and from the stadium
