inp.polri.go.id - To suppress the numbers of illegal racing in the Ponorogo area, the Ponorogo Police Traffic Unit continues to massively carry out night operations in several locations that are often used by young people for illegal racing, Sunday, (21/08/22). The activity was led directly by Head of Traffic Police of Ponorogo AKP Ayip Rizal. In this activity, the personnel went to several locations that were often used for illegal racing, including along Trunojoyo Ponorogo street, General Ahmad Yani street, Kh. Ahmad Dahlan street, Juanda street, Suromenggolo street, and Pramuka street. "To suppress the numebrs of illegal racing, we will massively continue to carry out night operations in several locations which according to information are suspected to be often used for illegal racing that are disturbing the communities," explained the Ponorogo Police Head of Traffic. AKP Ayip Rizal revealed that from the results of the operation, 31 motorbikes were secured which were suspected to be used for illegal racing. "As a result of tonight's operation, 31 motorbikes were secured along with their owners. We brought them to the Resort Police Headquarters for further inspection so we can take firm and measurable action, which is of course in accordance with the law," said Traffic Head AKP Ayip Rizal. He adds that "because the perpetrators are mostly a young students, they will summon their parents and educate them regarding the dangers of illegal racing and also to provide a deterrent effect to the perpetrators."
