Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Population and Family Planning has achieved a new milestone, earning the Museum of Indonesian World Records (MURI) recognition for providing 2,000 vasectomy services across Indonesia.
On Tuesday (22/4/2025), Minister Wihaji highlighted that the initiative is part of a national effort to manage the total fertility rate and promote gender equality in family planning.
"The goal is not just the MURI record, but to provide the best service to the people of Indonesia and promote shared responsibility in family planning," he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The program's success stems from the support of men participating in vasectomy, complementing women's contraception options. To qualify, men must be at least 35 years old, have two children, and pass a health screening.
The vasectomy method has shown a 99% success rate, helping to control birth rates effectively.
