inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto believes that Indonesia will not import any fuel oil within the next five years as the government continues to realize energy independence.

“We have set our goal to be energy independent in energy and I believe in the near future we would  not have to import fuel oil from other countries. I believe within five years we can achieve this,” says President Prabowo on Monday (1/20/2025).

According to President Prabowo, energy security is important and needed so that Indonesia can carry out the transformation from fossil fuels to renewable energy.

He explained that energy plays a key role in this world. With how abundant the country's natural resources are, it can lead Indonesia to become a developed country, as well as an industrial country that can bring prosperity to the people.

President Prabowo assessed that Indonesia is a country that is consistent and advanced in carrying out the transformation to clean and renewable energy.

“I believe that we are now one of the most advanced countries in the field of energy transformation into renewable energy, clean energy, 'green energy' which reduces carbon emissions. Many other countries are struggling, but us, we don’t have to, we are now focused on realizing it,” concludes Prabowo.
