Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A new version of the National Examination will be introduced in November 2025, targeting students in senior high schools , vocational schools, and Islamic senior high schools.
“This system will first be implemented for high schools in November 2025,” said Toni Toharudin, the Head of the National Curriculum Standards and Education Assessment Agency (BSKAP), during a press conference on Monday (20/1/2025).
He noted that only accredited schools or madrasahs will adopt the new system.
For elementary and junior high students, the changes will take effect in 2026.
“For grades six and nine, the new system will start next year,” Toni added.
Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Abdul Mu’ti said that the term “examination” will be removed entirely, replaced by a different assessment approach.
“The word ‘examination’ will no longer be used,” said Minister Mu’ti, promising more details once regulations for student admissions (PPDB) are finalized, expected before Eid al-Fitr.
