He said that Indonesia needs energy to carry out its transformation into a productive nation capable of producing various industrial products.

"And I have seen the concrete plans. We are determined to become an industrial nation, a modern nation, and we are determined that we will see people live well and decently," said President Prabowo, Thursday (7/16/2026).

According to him, Indonesia has the resources and human resource capacity to realize these ideals. President Prabowo emphasized that the government also needs financial support to develop health services, improve the welfare of teachers and civil servants, and build various infrastructure needed by a modern society.

Therefore, he stated that strategic projects, such as the Abadi Masela LNG, play a crucial role in supporting national development, including the downstream and industrialization agendas that require large energy supplies.

"Therefore, projects like this are very important. I greatly appreciate the start of this project," said President Prabowo.

On that occasion, President Prabowo added that the Abadi Masela LNG project has an investment value of approximately US$20.9 billion (approximately IDR 379 trillion) and is projected to produce more than 9 million tons of LNG and other condensate products, which will support Indonesia's development.

He also emphasized that economic development, transformation, downstreaming, and industrialization must bring prosperity to as many Indonesians as possible.

"The economy must be for the people, not the people for the economy. All of this belongs to the people. Our responsibility is to ensure that the people feel the benefits," President Prabowo emphasized.
