inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that Indonesia is open to partnerships with all countries as long as the cooperation is based on the principle of mutual benefit.
He stated that Indonesia will continue to pursue a friendly foreign policy with all countries, regardless of the size of a nation's strength.
"We are open to all partners, all countries that want to enter Indonesia, want to partner with Indonesia, and want to work for mutual benefit. This is our stance," said President Prabowo, Thursday (7/16/2026).
However, President Prabowo reminded that Indonesia has now become a mature nation and can no longer be underestimated. According to him, all international partners must understand that Indonesia's current leadership will champion national interests.
"However, all parties must also understand that Indonesia is now mature," said Prabowo.
He emphasized that amidst its openness to the world, Indonesia will continue to maintain its national dignity and ensure that all international cooperation is based on the principle of mutual respect and mutual benefit.
President Prabowo also highlighted the persistence of those who underestimate Indonesia for being too friendly and relaxed. He believes this perception does not reflect the reality on the ground.
President Prabowo emphasized that Indonesians are a hardworking nation. Farmers, fishermen, and residents in various regions toil every day to meet their daily needs.
"Our people struggle hard every day to earn a decent living. Those who sail the seas, looking for food, fishing, risk their lives. Everywhere, our people are working hard," said President Prabowo.
The groundbreaking for the Masela Block ended a 27-year wait and marked the beginning of actual construction on one of Indonesia's largest energy projects.
The Masela Block is a strategic step toward national gas self-sufficiency by increasing gas supplies for domestic needs.
Utilizing gas from the Masela Block will strengthen energy security while reducing Indonesia's dependence on gas imports.
