inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto has requested that several ministries and institutions build housing for residents still living along the railway tracks, after previously inspecting settlements near the railway line in the Senen area of Jakarta.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that President Prabowo instructed Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo, Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait, Perum Perumnas, and PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), as well as relevant officials, to build housing and bathroom, laundry, and toilet (MCK) facilities for residents still living along the Senen railway tracks.
"Today, the team has begun the construction of new housing and toilet facilities not far from their original residences," Teddy stated on Friday (3/27/2026).
He noted that when President Prabowo inspected the area along the Senen railway tracks, people reported that they had been living there for decades, with limited housing and roofs.
"And the President wants these people to be provided with decent housing and sanitation facilities as soon as possible," said Teddy.
