inp.polri.go.id - Serang. The Banten Provincial Tourism Office recorded that tourist visits to several destinations in the region exceeded 700,000, dominated by those from Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Greater Jakarta), with the majority of visits flocking to coastal areas.

The Head of the Banten Provincial Tourism Office, Eli Susiyanti stated that this figure represents the accumulation of 60 percent of the data received through 110 monitoring points as of Thursday (March 26) evening.

"Most of the visits are from coastal areas, especially Sawarna, Bagedur, Pasir Putih, Florida, and Carita. Tourists are predominantly from the Greater Jakarta area, including Bogor and Tangerang," Eli said in Serang on Friday (3/27/2026).

Eli explained that the highest spike in visits occurred on the second and third days of the holiday period (D+2 and D+3). Although the number of visitors plateaued on the fourth day, she predicted that tourist volumes would rise again over the weekend of March 28-29.

To compare total visits with the previous year, the Banten Tourism Office is still awaiting final data by March 30th.

During the holiday period, the Banten Tourism Office also monitored a number of obstacles and incidents in the field. The most common complaints from tourists involved traffic congestion at certain points and hot weather.

Furthermore, there were also minor maritime accidents, such as tourists being hit by coral, stung by marine animals, and some being swept away by waves.

Regarding complaints about visitor safety and comfort, such as reports of lost motorcycles and disappointing food vendor practices, Eli emphasized that these issues are being evaluated jointly to continue promoting tourism awareness programs in the communities surrounding the destinations.
