inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto considers India's success as a democratic country capable of maintaining government stability amidst diversity to be an important inspiration for Indonesia.

"We look at India, a country with 1.4 billion people, many ethnic groups like ours, and many different regional languages. But managing so many years of peaceful government transitions in many states, and in the Union of India itself, is an extraordinary achievement," praised President Prabowo on Wednesday (7/8/2026).

President Prabowo said that democracy is not an easy system to implement. However, the President believes that democracy remains the best system for realizing a just and inclusive national life.

"Democracy is not an easy path, it is not an easy system. It is not easy. Sometimes it is very messy. But I think we agree that it is the best system for justice, for hope, for inclusiveness," he said.

According to him, democracy is inseparable from various challenges, ranging from threats to attempts by various parties to undermine the system. However, President Prabowo emphasized that these challenges do not diminish his commitment to maintaining and defending democracy.

"There are dangers in democracy. There are obstacles. There are people who want to hijack democracy. But we cannot give up. We must believe in democracy and we must strive to maintain it. This is the best method of all the systems we have tried, that have been tried by human civilization," he emphasized.

Furthermore, he invited all levels of society to continue learning from India's experience in strengthening democracy. He believed that these lessons are crucial for Indonesia, a country with a rich diversity.

"The important thing is that the Indonesian people must learn from India's experience," he concluded.
