inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto orders his ministries to stop the import of rice, salt, sugar, and corn in 2025.
“We are grateful that on the first closed meeting, we have decided that we will not import rice, corn, sugar, and salt,” says the Coordinating Ministry of Food, Zulkifli Hasan on Monday (12/30/2024).
Therefore, Zulkifli will not set any import quotas on those commodities in 2025.
Moreover, the President also decided to raise the government purchase price (HPP) of unhusked rice for IDR 500, from IDR 6,000 to IDR 6,500. Then, the results of the meeting led by the President also decided to increase the reference purchase price (HAP) of corn by IDR 500, from IDR 5,000 to IDR 5,500.
“Through a long conversation, it was decided by the president, and this is good news for the farmers that the HPP for unhusked rice will be raised from IDR 6,000 to IDR 6,500. Same goes for corn from IDR 5,000 to IDR 5,500,” Zulkifli said.
Then, the government will also buy and accommodate any amount of farmers' rice, paddy, and corn production.
"Any amount of farmers' rice and corn production will be accommodated according to the price set by the government," said Coordinating Minister Zulhas.
The farmers' harvest will later be accommodated in warehouses owned by Bulog, the parent cooperative, and the receipt warehouse.
