inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto asked the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia to immediately start of the construction of downstream projects.

In a meeting with a number of ministers of the Red and White Cabinet at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Tuesday (5/20/2025), Bahlil said that the President highlighted the acceleration of downstreaming which has become a government priority and asked to immediately start the implementation of strategic downstream projects.

"The President has planned that of the several downstream projects, some must start the groundbreaking," said Bahlil quoted by Antaranews, Jakarta, Tuesday (5/20/2025).

Bahlil further detailed the downstream projects that are expected to start soon, namely nickel to build an electric vehicle battery ecosystem, as well as the development of the DME (dimethyl ether) project for energy substitution.

On that occasion, President Prabowo also requested the acceleration of downstreaming which is a government priority.

In order to increase oil and gas lifting, Bahlil also invited President Prabowo to attend a meeting and exhibition of K3S Contractors from 46 countries.

"Tomorrow there will be a big event attended by 46 K3S contractor countries in order to increase lifting," said Bahlil.

This meeting marks the government's seriousness in accelerating industrial transformation and national energy security as part of a grand strategy for long-term economic development.
