President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, officially announced the decision to enforce the Emergency PPKM (Public Activity Limitation Enforcement) for Java and Bali island starts on July 3, 2021.

"After gathered many inputs from the ministers, health experts, and head of regional governments, I decided to enforce the Emergency PPKM starts from July 3 to July 20, 2021, for Java and Bali island", Jokowi said at the Independence Palace, Thursday (1/7).

The Emergency PPKM encompasses the tighter public activity limitation compared to the previous PPKM to suppress Covid-19 transmission numbers.

In the same event, Joko Widodo asked the public to abide by Health Protocols with discipline and supporting the government's apparatus and volunteers in handling the Covid-19 pandemic.

"Stay calm and aware. Abide by the regulations and discipline in observing Health Protocols", he concluded.
