Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo embarked on a journey to Melbourne, Australia, on Monday morning (4/3/2024) to participate in the Special ASEAN-Australia Summit from 4 to 6 March 2024.
This summit commemorates the golden jubilee of the ASEAN partnership with Australia. It aims to discuss optimizing their comprehensive strategic partnership to promote a peaceful, stable, and prosperous Indo-Pacific region, as reported by antaranews.com.
Before departing from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta, President Jokowi said, "I will seize this opportunity to advocate for cooperation in bolstering economic integration, energy transition, digital transformation, and advancing a paradigm of collaboration while consistently respecting international law, including the issue of Palestine."
In addition to attending the summit, President Jokowi is scheduled to engage in bilateral meetings with the Prime Ministers of Australia, New Zealand, and Cambodia.
Accompanying the President on this journey are Vice President Ma'ruf Amin, State Secretary Pratikno, Chief of the Indonesian Military General Agus Subiyanto, and Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono.
