Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo emphasized that funds from the Indonesia Pintar Program should not be used to buy mobile phones or credit.
"This money is intended for school needs, such as buying books, stationery, uniforms, and shoes. However, it is not allowed to be used for buying mobile phones or phone credit," President Jokowi said during his visit to Magelang, Central Java on Monday (22/1/2024).
He explained that the Indonesia Pintar Program offers students in Magelang an annual allowance of Rp450,000 for elementary school, Rp750,000 for junior high school, and Rp1.8 million for senior high school/vocational school.
"I believe the amount is sufficient and something we should be thankful for together," President Jokowi remarked.
The President highlighted that the Indonesia Pintar Program has supported 18 million students nationwide from Aceh to Papua throughout 2023. The 2024 goal is to extend assistance to 18.6 million students.
