Inp.polri.go.id – Riau. Riau Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Mohammad Iqbal invites journalists to work together in building unity amidst the society during the election period. Iqbal says that the effort could be done through articles containing unity and nationalism messages. “To my journalist colleagues, state unity is important and I implore you to jointly maintain unity through your articles,” says Riau Regional Police Chief during the joint declaration of orderly traffic for 2024 Peaceful Election on Sunday (1/21/2024). The police chief continues that mass media has significant impact, thus maintaining unity in digital space is important. For that reason, the Two-Star General invites media to play an active role in building unity through journalism. “Because we have to admit that we are currently in digital era, we cannot work hand-in-hand if the media framed each other negatively. In this opportunity, I ask all my colleagues in media to maintain state unity through media,” Mohammad Iqbal explained further. Iqbal continues that religious and local figures to also work together and prays that all society elements in Riau Province to collaborate for the sake of peaceful and conducive election.
