Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto emphasized the importance of ASEAN unity to enhance the region's global standing during a joint press conference with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim at the Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Monday (27/12025).

"Only through unity and strong cooperation among ASEAN countries can our voices be heard, and we can be recognized by larger global powers," he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.

President Prabowo highlighted that the world is currently facing heightened tensions and uncertainty, necessitating ongoing synergy and consultation among ASEAN nations, especially between Indonesia and Malaysia.

The President underscored ASEAN's significant potential, with over 600 million people, making it comparable to the European Union. He pointed out the region's rapid economic growth and its reputation as a long-standing zone of peace without inter-state conflicts.
