Inp.polri.go.id - Garut. Traffic on the southern route in Pakenjeng, Garut, West Java, has resumed after a landslide temporarily blocked access.

"The road is passable again as of 8 pm last night, but drivers should remain cautious during the rainy season," said First Inspector Aang Andi Suhandi, the Garud Sub-regional Police Head of Traffic Unit, on Monday (27/1/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

Heavy rain on Sunday  triggered a landslide in Pakenjeng-Bungbulang, disrupting traffic. Police, local residents and officials, have worked to clear debris. Flooding in other areas briefly slowed traffic but subsided once the rain stopped.

Chief Aang advised travelers heading to southern Garut, including Cikajang-Cisompet-Pameungpeuk-Cikelet, to stay alert due to weather-related risks.

Pakenjeng Police Office Chief First Inspector Muslih confirmed that a 15-meter-high slope collapsed in Kampung Arinem, Desa Jayamekar, covering 20 meters of road.

"No casualties were reported, but the area remains prone to further landslides," he warned, urging caution, especially during rain.
