Inp.polri.go.id - Bogor. President Prabowo Subianto clarified in Jakarta on Sunday (22/3/2026) that Indonesia never pledged a 1 billion USD contribution to the Board of Peace (BoP) initiated by the U.S. President Donald Trump, dismissing reports of a mandatory 17 trillion rupiah membership fee.

"We never stated that we would participate in a 1 billion dollar contribution," said President Prabowo Subianto during an interview following a strategic discussion in his private residence in Hambalang, as reported by antaranews.com.

The President noted that Indonesia was absent from the founding donors' meeting in Washington last February, asserting that he made no financial commitments during initial talks.

While Indonesia supports the peace initiative for Gaza, he highlighted that the nation’s contribution remains focused on deploying peacekeeping forces rather than cash payments.

President Prabowo added that while future reconstruction aid through National Zakat Agency  (Baznas) remains possible if a ceasefire holds, the government strictly rejects any prerequisite dues for permanent board status.
