Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Human Rights Natalius Pigai said on Monday (5/1/2025) that the administration of President Prabowo Subianto has not issued any regulation that restricts freedom of expression, citing improved civil and political rights performance in 2025.
Speaking at the 2025 Human Rights Ministry Performance Kaleidoscope in Jakarta he said, “During more than one year of President Prabowo’s administration, the government has not issued a single regulation that curbs freedom of expression.”
The statement was delivered while presenting Indonesia’s Human Rights Index, released jointly by the Human Rights Ministry and Statistics Indonesia (BPS). Minister Pigai explained that freedom of expression recorded the highest score in the civil and political rights dimension, reaching 58.28.
He said that the overall Human Rights Index in 2025 stood at 63.20, with economic, social, and cultural rights scoring 68.97. Minister Pigai added that the current situation contrasts with previous years, when several policies were viewed as limiting civil liberties.
