Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto orders the Head of National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB), Suharyanto, to move fast in handling floods and landslide in Pekalongan Regency.

"I have instructed the BNPB Chief and his ranks to move fast to the location," says Prabowo on Thursday (1/23/2025).

In his instructions, BNPB is to help and work together with the local government and related institutions to ensure smooth and safe aid.

On that occasion, Prabowo also expressed his condolences for the flood and landslide victims.

“I offer my condolences for the disaster that has taken so many lives in Pekalongan,” says Prabowo.

Prabowo continues that the government will continue to monitor the disaster handling situation in Pekalongan.

Previously, downpours hit Central Java since Monday (1/20/2025) night until Tuesday (1/21/2025), resulting in natural disasters such as landslides and flooding in a number of areas.

The number of fatalities due to the landslide in Petungkriyono, Pekalongan, continues to increase. As of Wednesday (1/22/2025), there were 21 people, including a 5-month-old toddler who have lost their lives to the disaster. Meanwhile, five people are still missing.
