Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  President Prabowo Subianto convened a major assembly with over 160 prominent Islamic scholars and clerics at the State Palace on Thursday night (5/3/2026) to secure national solidarity regarding Indonesia's stance on the escalating Middle East conflict. 

Following unilateral military strikes by U.S. and Israeli forces against Iran, the President emphasized that his administration's diplomatic maneuvers are strictly dedicated to safeguarding Indonesia's territorial integrity and sovereign interests.

"The President stated that every action taken is for the unity and sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia," People Consultative Assembly (MPR) Chairman Ahmad Muzani remarked following the three-hour dialogue, as reported by antaranews.com.

During the meeting, the President also detailed Indonesia's strategic membership in the Gaza Board of Peace (BoP), advocating a "strategy from within" to influence regional stability directly. 

The attending ulemas expressed their understanding and pledged spiritual and social support for the government’s non-aligned mediation efforts.
