The Indonesian National Police (INP)'s Special Detachment (Densus) 88 Anti-Terror collaborated with former terrorist convicts as Prevention Ambassadors to conduct a socialization campaign on the prevention of intolerance, radicalism, extremism, and terrorism (IRET) at the South Sumatra Regional Police Headquarters on Tuesday (2/10/2026).
"This activity aims to raise public awareness of the dangers of IRET and strengthen collaboration in terrorism prevention," said Brigadier Ganna Saputra, a member of the Densus 88 Anti-Terror team.
The event was attended by 500 participants, including representatives of the South Sumatra Regional Police's high-ranking officers, police officers within the South Sumatra Regional Police jurisdiction, and junior non-commissioned officers (NCOs).
A former terrorist convict from South Sumatra, Mr. Abdurrahman Taib, also shared his experiences and encouraged the public to collaborate in preventing the new trend of terror attacks targeting young people.
