inp.polri.go.id - South Kalimantan. The South Kalimantan Regional Police, along with relevant agencies, held a troop roll call as part of Operation Patuh Intan 2026.

The main focus of this activity was to check the preparation of personnel and equipment and infrastructure to reduce the number of traffic accidents, particularly those triggered by impaired visibility due to haze from forest and land fires.

The Head of Public Relations of the South Kalimantan Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Nur Khamid stated that his team would prioritize preemptive and preventive measures, especially on roads directly affected by haze from forest and land fires.

These anticipatory measures include installing safety warnings, painting road markings, installing rotating lights and emergency lights, and placing reflectors at several vulnerable points to prevent traffic accidents.

"We have reported to the Head of the Traffic Corps of the Indonesian National Police (INP) that in South Kalimantan, we will continue to prioritize preemptive and preventive measures, especially targeting road sections affected by forest and land fire haze," said the Director of Traffic for the South Kalimantan Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Fahri Siregar, in his statement on Friday (10/30/2026).

While a preemptive and preventive approach is prioritized, the police will still take firm repressive measures in the form of manual ticketing. This firm action will be especially applied to traffic violators who commit serious violations or illegal racing.

Meanwhile, the South Kalimantan Regional Police have recorded impressive achievements in terms of traffic safety index. Based on the evaluation for the first half of 2026 and a report from the Head of the Traffic Corps of INP, the South Kalimantan Regional Police's Road Safety Index (RSI) score is at level four, one of the best nationally.

The police expressed their appreciation to all the people of South Kalimantan and relevant agencies for their support in the traffic accident prevention and management program. However, they urged the public to remain vigilant, given the continued loss of life due to road accidents.
