inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Arifah Fauzi emphasized the importance of regional governments, schools, and families to strengthen character education and build a culture of non-violence in educational environments.

"This case is an important reflection that violence in schools is a serious problem that must be prevented together," said Minister Arifah on Friday (10/10/2025).

She said this in response to a case of bullying between students at a public junior high school in Pesisir Barat Regency, Lampung, which resulted in the victim's death.

Every educational unit is also expected to have a Team for the Prevention and Handling of Violence in Educational Units (TPPK) in line with Regulation of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Number 46 of 2023.

The regulation also emphasizes that investigations and recovery steps need to be pursued in responding to cases of violence, including bullying.

Assistance needs to be provided to victims, witnesses, and the perpetrators of bullying who are children. Assistance for victims can include the provision of health services and counseling services to minimize the impact of bullying.

In addition, there needs to be measured corrective and educational action for perpetrators to prevent recidivism.

"All parties in schools are required to participate in creating a conducive school climate so that bullying cases do not recur. This includes eliminating the paradigm and practice of violent discipline as well as tolerance for violent acts in schools," said Minister Arifah.
