inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Intelligence, defense, and security observer, Ngasiman Djoyonegoro appreciated the performance of the Police in securing the Indonesian people's homecoming of Eid Al-Fitr 1443 Hijriah. "Police ranks are quite prepared in handling the 2022 homecoming. We all should appreciate it," said Ngasiman in Jakarta, Monday (02/05/2022). The government has predicted a surge in homecoming for Eid in 2022, because in the previous two years the government had banned homecoming travel due to the COVID-19 pandemic. According to him, the efforts made by the National Police were quite successful in minimizing congestion, including the implementation of one-way traffic engineering on toll roads. It also aims to provide a smooth flow for travelers, especially the flow to the east of Java, such as Cirebon, Yogyakarta, Central Java, and East Java. From the point of view of state security, homecoming is an important momentum to gain public trust in the Government. Homecoming security is an important public service for citizens. Good handling the homecoming activity will have an impact on increasing public trust towards the government, said the Ngasiman, also known as Simon. "Don't let any incidents that result in fatalities go unanticipated," he said. In relation to the threat of radicalism, he assessed that the movement of radical groups during the homecoming was also high due to lax of supervision as the intensity of human mobilization during the homecoming and return flows is high. The focus of the Police is prioritized on travel security. Therefore, he appealed to all personnel responsible for national security and defense to remain vigilant and work with each other. The movement of radical groups must also be a priority during the homecoming and return flows, and the Police, TNI, and local governments must be more concerned, alert, and implement an early detection system. He said the government must also be aware of the potential spike in the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Although the possibility is small, this potential still must be monitored so that the Government can take action if there are indications of a spike in COVID-19. The success of managing the homecoming flow is the beginning of the nation's awakening from the COVID-19 pandemic, he said. "I am sure that in the future we will be able to face the situation more optimistically," he said.
