Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) confirmed that criminal proceedings against Second Brigadier Mesias Viktor Siahaya, a Mobile Brigade (Brimob) officer suspected of fatally assaulting a 14-year-old student in Tual, Maluku, are moving forward.
“The investigation was completed and the case was handed over to the Tual Attorney’s Office on 24 February 2026,” stated Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir, the INP Head of Public Relations, on Wednesday (25/2/2026), as cited by antaranews.com
The incident occurred during a tactical patrol on 19 February 2026, when the suspect allegedly struck the victim, identified as AT, with a tactical helmet, causing a fatal fall. Mesias faces up to 15 years in prison under the Child Protection Act and the Criminal Code. While the suspect has already received a dishonorable discharge, the INP emphasized its commitment to providing medical and legal support to the victim’s family throughout the trial.
