inp.polri.go.id - Puncak. Joint personnel from the Damai Cartenz Operation Task Force and the Puncak Police provided escort services for a public demonstration taking place in Ilaga District, Puncak Regency, on Friday (3/6/2026).

This protest was following the arrest of a suspect named Kalimak Wanibo. As a precautionary measure, officers established security at several strategic locations, particularly around the Puncak Regent's Office.

During the protest, personnel employed a persuasive and humane approach to the protesters. Officers also appealed to the public to maintain order and refrain from any actions that could potentially disrupt public security and order.

The escort services for the demonstration were carried out openly to provide a sense of security and ensure that the process of conveying public aspirations could proceed conducively.

Head of the Damai Cartenz Operation Task Force 2026, Brigadier General Faizal Ramadhani, stated that the presence of security forces to provide escort services for community activities is part of an effort to maintain security and stability in the Papua region.

"We ensure that every community activity, including the expression of aspirations, can proceed safely. Personnel in the field always prioritize a humanistic approach and prioritize dialogue to maintain a conducive situation," he said.

Overall, the demonstration in Ilaga District proceeded orderly and smoothly. The security situation in Puncak Regency was observed to be safe and conducive until the protest was over.
