Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. State toll road operatorPT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk has urged travelers to time their return to the Greater Jakarta area to avoid the heavy congestion expected during the peak return flow, which is predicted to occur on 24, 28, and 29 March 2026.
"We encourage those still in their hometowns to manage their travel schedules and avoid the projected peak dates to ensure a smoother journey," said Jasa Marga President Director Rivan A. Purwantono in Jakarta on Monday (23/3/2026), as quoted by antaranews.com.
To incentivize a more distributed traffic flow, Jasa Marga is offering a 30% toll discount on nine of its operated sections for continuous trips made between 26 and 27 March 2026. Travelers with flexible schedules are also encouraged to take advantage of the government’s Work From Anywhere (WFA) period from 25 to 27 March 2026 to bypass the weekend rush.
Data shows that over 2.2 million vehicles left Jabotabek between 11 and 22 March 2026, marking a 27.1% increase over normal traffic volume. With approximately 1.3 million vehicles still expected to return to the capital, officials warn against traveling during "favorite" windows, such as early morning or late night, and advise staying alert for congestion near popular tourist destinations following the Eid festivities.
