Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. State railway company PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) recorded ticket sales of more than 4 million passengers during the Christmas and New Year 2025–2026 transportation period, reflecting strong public mobility nationwide.
The figure covers travel between 18 December 2025 and 4 January 2026, including the peak return flow on 3 January 2026.
“Total national ticket sales reached 4,068,603 as of this morning, marking a 9.06 percent increase compared to last year’s Nataru period,” PT KAI Vice President for Corporate Communication Anne Purba said on Saturday (3/1/2026), as quoted by antaranews.com.
Long-distance trains accounted for 3.31 million tickets, while local train services sold over 750,000 tickets, with occupancy exceeding 100 percent due to flexible boarding patterns across stations.
PT KAI said Jakarta operational areas saw higher arrivals than departures during the return flow. The company ensured all services operated safely and urged passengers to arrive early and follow boarding procedures.
