Inp.polri.go.id - Bogor. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Traffic Corps Chief Inspector Gneral Agus Suryonugroho praised Bogor Sub-regional Police for involving volunteer traffic wardens to help manage road traffic during the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year holiday period.
The initiative was carried out at key congestion points, including the Gadog Police Post in West Java, to support smoother holiday travel.
“This is a positive example of shared responsibility, where the police, stakeholders, and the community work together to keep traffic safe and orderly,” Chief Agus said on Sunday (4/1/2026), as cited by antaranews.com.
He noted that the traffic volunteer wardens assisted traffic police in regulating flow at road junctions and alternative routes, contributing to improved safety, order, and traffic flow during the year end operation.
Chief Agus added that overall holiday traffic management under Operation Lilin ran safely and under control. Vehicle departures from Jakarta have reached around 96 percent, while return traffic remains relatively stable without the need for additional traffic engineering measures.
