inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Director of the Indonesian Political House (INP), Fernando Emas, assessed the results of the Kompas Research and Development Survey, which recorded an increase in public trust in INP, as a development worthy of appreciation.
He stated that this increase indicates that various efforts to improve services and the presence of police in the community are beginning to receive a positive response from the public.
In the Kompas Research and Development Survey, the level of public trust in INP reached 82.4 percent, an increase compared to the previous year's figure of 76.2 percent.
Furthermore, the police's institutional image also increased from 64.4 percent to 71.5 percent.
Fernando stated that the survey results not only reflect the level of public trust statistically but also reflect the public's experience interacting with police in various aspects of service.
"This survey is not just numbers. Behind those numbers are the public's experiences when dealing with police services, seeing the police present to regulate traffic, handle security disturbances, assist disaster victims, and maintain order in various community activities. All of this shapes public perception," said Fernando in a statement on Friday (6/26/2026).
He explained that public trust is built through consistent service and performance in the field, not simply through image building.
Therefore, increasing levels of public trust indicate a change that is starting to be directly felt by the public.
"If public trust increases, it means that services are perceived as better. Of course, there are still shortcomings that need to be addressed, but when there are positive achievements recognized through independent surveys, we should express our appreciation. Appreciation doesn't mean turning a blind eye to criticism, but rather a form of appreciation for the hard work that has been done," he said.
Fernando further emphasized that maintaining security is a shared responsibility between the police and the public. He believes that a high level of public trust will be crucial for the police to continuously improve the quality of their services and strengthen their partnership with the community.
