inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Vice Minister of Population and Family Development Ratu Ayu Isyana Bagoes Oka mentioned the importance of mutual cooperation in the Foster Parents Movement to Prevent Stunting (Genting) program.

Ratu conveyed that the data on the decline in stunting from 2022 to 2023 was still very small, where based on the Indonesian Nutritional Status Survey (SSGI) in 2022, the prevalence of stunting was at 21.6 percent, then decreased in 2023 to 21.5 percent.

"The decline is not too much, and there must be a breakthrough so that it can be overcome immediately," said Ratu Ayu.

According to him, prevention cannot only be done by the government, it needs to involve various parties, including the private sector. Therefore, according to him, the Genting program is very important and strategic, because it involves all components of the nation's children in reducing stunting through a mutual cooperation approach.

Ratu Ayu conveyed the importance of preventing stunting in the first 1,000 days of life and has saw the implementation of the Genting program.

"We will see what it would be like, but the most important thing is the first 1,000 days of life, starting from pregnant women to babies aged two years. Those are the moments to prevent stunting," said Ratu Ayu.
