inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Abdul Mu'ti, stated that the government is distributing educational assistance to disaster-affected schools in Sumatra.

"We have sent assistance to disaster-affected schools, such as school kits, tents, emergency classrooms, and emergency operational funds," he said, as quoted by the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) YouTube channel on Wednesday (12/31/2025).

The school kit assistance fund totaled IDR 27 billion. IDR 15.5 billion was allocated to Aceh, IDR 5 billion to West Sumatra, and IDR 6.5 billion to North Sumatra.

The government also distributed educational tents totaling IDR 147 billion: IDR 78 billion to Aceh, IDR 22 billion to West Sumatra, and IDR 47 billion to North Sumatra.

"We are preparing emergency classrooms with a budget of IDR 160 billion. IDR 25.915 billion in emergency operational funds, and IDR 700 billion in psychosocial support," he explained.

The IDR 212 billion in textbook assistance was distributed to three affected provinces. Direct assistance for teachers was distributed through bank transfers to each recipient's account.

"The total number of recipients reached 16,467 teachers, with a value of IDR 32.934 billion. All of it was transferred directly to the teachers' accounts," Abdul noted.

Previously, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education developed a National Disaster Education Implementation Guide. The guide serves as a reference for increasing pre-disaster, during, and post-disaster preparedness.

"The guide includes a disaster competency map according to educational level. This allows for integration with relevant subjects to support sustainable recovery," said Toni Toharudin, Head of the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education's Disaster Management Agency (BSKAP).
