inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Religion will withdraw and close down businesses whose products are not halal certified. The Halal Product Assurance Supervisor (JPH) has listed the businesses that will be closed.

Head of the Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH) Haikal Hasan said, from the results of the JPH, BPJPH will conduct a study and examination of alleged violations. Furthermore, it will be determined whether business actors can be subject to sanctions according to regulations.

"I need to emphasize that there are two sanctions for violators of halal certification obligations. Namely, administrative (written warning) and product withdrawal from circulation including business closure," said the Head of BPJPH on Friday (10/25/2024).

BPJPH ensures that after the first phase of the halal certification obligation ends on October 17, 2024. Then, after that,  starting on October 18th, 2024, the halal certification obligation will be enforced.

"To oversee the implementation of halal certification obligations as mandated by Law No. 33/2014 concerning JPH, BPJPH is implementing simultaneous supervision of Halal Product Assurance starting October 18, 2024," explained the Head of BPJPH.

To carry out the supervision of JPH, BPJPH has prepared 1,032 JPH Supervisory personnel who have met the requirements. One of them has passed the JPH Supervisory Training.

The involvement of ministries, institutions, and regional governments in implementing JPH supervision can be done after coordinating and working together with BPJPH. This is regulated by Law No. 33/2014 and PP No. 42/2024 concerning the Implementation of the JPH Sector.
