Inp.polri.go.id - Batam. The Riau Islands Regional Police intensified security measures at ports and airports with Operation Ketupat Seligi 2024 during the anticipated Eid return traffic in 2024 in Riau Islands. 

Predicted to peak on 14 to 15 April 2024, the operation aimed to ensure safety.

Riau Islands Police Head of Public Relations Senior Superintendent Zahwani Pandra Arsyad said on Monday (15/4/2024) that Operation Ketupat Seligi 2024 will monitor return traffic at major ports and airports in Kepri.

On Sunday, Punggur Domestic Port recorded 12,963 passengers, Sekupang Domestic Port had 8,077 passengers, Batam Center Port saw 11,251 passengers, Batu Ampar Port had 5,117 passengers, and Harbour Bay Port had 7,167 passengers.

"Hang Nadim Airport hosted 12,727 passengers, and 703 departed from RHF Tanjungpinang Airport," Chief Zahwani said..

Police assistance includes luggage support, pedestrian crossings, information provision, and security. Current traffic conditions are favorable, minimizing congestion and facilitating smoother operations.
