Head of the Batam KSOP, Takwim M Masuku, stated that the trip was part of a series of free homecoming programs, a collaboration between the Ministry of Transportation, the Riau Islands Regional Police, and the Batam regional government. As reported by Antara Kepri, Thursday (March 19, 2026),
"The KN Sarotama, with 150 passengers, departed at 12:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time for Kuala Tungkal, Jambi."
Masuku stated that the Riau Islands Regional Police Chief symbolically sent off 150 residents who participated in the free homecoming trip to Tanjungpinang City from Punggur Port, Batam, on the same day.
