The Indonesian National Police (INP)'s Mobile Brigade Unit arrested five members of an armed robbery gang who stole IDR 800 million in West Tulang Bawang, Lampung, on Saturday (2/21/2026). The five suspects arrested were AY, T, J, Y, and D in a joint operation with the Lampung Regional Police Mobile Brigade and the West Tulang Bawang Sub-regional Police.
"The Mobile Brigade Unit of the Indonesian National Police (INP), together with the Lampung Regional Police Mobile Brigade and the West Tulang Bawang Sub-regional Police, were able to solve this case quickly and comprehensively," said Head of Unit III of the Mobile Brigade Unit of INP, Superintendent Reinhard H Nainggolan.
The robbery occurred on Monday (1/19/2026) at around 9:00 a.m. when the two victims, a truck driver and a grocery store employee, were about to deposit money into a bank using a truck.
While on the road, suspects T and J pulled up next to the victim's truck with their motorcycle and fired a shot at the window, breaking through it.
"At around 9:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time, three gun shots were heard on Sudirman street, Tiyuh Daya Asri," said Reinhard. The shots caused the truck to stop, and the perpetrators immediately stole IDR 800 million, which was to be deposited into Bank Mandiri.
Police arrested five suspects in different roles: AY, the mastermind of the robbery; J, the motorcycle driver; T, the shooter; Y, the monitor; and D, the motorcycle provider. All suspects have been detained for further legal proceedings.
