Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Russia states that they are ready to help Indonesia to build its first nuclear power plant in 2023. The Russian nuclear official representative from ROSATOM State Atomic Energy Corporation, Anna Belokoneva, says Russia is ready to exchange its experience and knowledge surrounding nuclear technology.
“ROSATOM is ready to collaborate with Indonesia in all aspects we offer. We believe the technology of ROSATOM, including a small nuclear power plant, could be a good choice to add nuclear energy as part of Indonesian renewable energy,” quote Belokoneva in Russian Ambassador to Indonesia official instagram post.
In the post, several ROSATOM State Atomic Energy Corporation nuclear experts revealed that they had visited Indonesia on March 4th to 8th. The ambassador states the expert came to a seminar held by Bandung Technology Institute (ITB) and Indonesian National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN).
“The experts came to the seminar who discussed modern technology in small scale nuclear power plant construction,” continued Anna.
Anna states that the seminar speakers exchanged knowledge and unique experience of ROSATOM in operating small scale nuclear modular and other promising nuclear technologies.
Meanwhile, Indonesia itself has already announced their plan to build a nuclear power plant in 2032. Then in November 2023, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) confirmed that they set the nuclear power plant to be commercialized in 2032.
