Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Search and Rescue (SAR) agency has extended the search for victims of the KM Putri Sakinah boat sinking in Labuan Bajo waters, East Nusa Tenggara, after four Spanish tourists were reported missing.
The decision was made on Sunday (4/1/2026), following the latest recovery by the joint SAR team.
“We decided to extend the search operation for another three days,” said SAR Mission Coordinator Fathur Rahman, confirming the continuation of efforts after a victim was found earlier in the day, as reported by antaranews.com
The tourist boat sank near Serai Island in Komodo National Park last week due to rough sea conditions.
Two victims have been recovered so far, while two others remain missing. Adverse and unpredictable weather continues to hamper underwater and surface searches, but teams remain deployed across key locations until the extended deadline.
