Inp.polri.go.id - Banyuwangi. The joint Search and Rescue (SAR) team is preparing a technical recovery team to raise the wreck of the KMP Tunu Pratama Jaya, which was located capsized on the seabed of the Bali Strait at a depth of approximately 49 meters.
The wreck was visualized during underwater search operations conducted by the Maritime Search and Rescue Unit (SRU) at reference point eight. Marking operations will now begin at the confirmed site, officials stated.
“The ship’s position has been clearly identified, and the next step will be to mark the exact location,” said Hartanto, the Head of Tanjung Perak Navigation District, during a press conference at Ketapang Port, Banyuwangi, on Sunday (13/7/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
A specialized technical team tasked with planning the salvage operation is en route to Banyuwangi, Hartanto confirmed.
