"Scholarships are not subject to an efficiency program," said Secretary General of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology Togar M. Simatupang, as quoted by Antara on Thursday (2/13/2025).

Togar emphasized that the scholarship budget, which is part of the social spending budget component, has been emphasized by Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) not to be affected by government budget efficiency

"So it has been emphasized by Commission X, there is no impact on social spending, which in this case scholarships," said Secretary General Togar.

Therefore, Togar ensured that Indonesian students who are studying both at home and abroad will not be left behind.

"Because there has been an affirmation that the budget is safe, nothing’s changed," said Togar.
