Inp.polri.go.id - Ambon. In a challenging endeavor, the combined forces of the Indonesian Military  and the Indonesian National Police (INP) escorted the distribution of election materials in Elpaputih District, West Seram Regency, Maluku that required extra vigilant security measures. Dozens of ballot boxes and other polling station equipment were dispatched to Sumieth Pasinaro, Abio Ahiolo, Watui, and Huku Kecil Villages. The distribution of election logistics in these remote villages demanded an arduous effort. The joint forces had to toil hard due to the absence of vehicular access roads. Transporting the numerous supplies via vehicles was only feasible until Nui River. Subsequently, personnel commenced their journey on foot from the Elpaputih district office around 11 am. Security personnel and organizers then trekked through forests from Nui River, traversing hills while carrying the logistics approximately 20 kilometers, and swim across the river.  This feat was accomplished with the assistance of local residents. "The election logistics escorted to the mountainous region arrived safely at 3.50 pm ," said West Seram Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Dannie Andreas Dharmawan on Tuesday (13/2/2024).
