Inp.polri.go.id - Sorong.  Sorong Sub-regional Police Chief Senior Superintendent  Happy Perdana Yudianto,has confirmed on Tuesday (13/2/2024) that the security and public order situation remains calm as the voting approaches . "The security and public order situation in Sorong City during the quiet period until now is still safe and conducive, with no incidents disturbing the peace," he said. The Sorong Police Chief explained that 373 personnel are deployed to secure 730 polling stations across Sorong while another 50 are on standby to anticipate emergency incidents requiring immediate attention. He explained that each polling station will be guarded by two police personnel. In addition, there are Mobile Brigade personnel from the West Papua Regional Police who are also on standby to assist with security in Sorong. Chief Happy urged all members tasked with securing polling stations to carry out their duties in accordance with operational standards and procedures related to securing and escorting ballot boxes.
