Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The joint forces of the Indonesian National Police (INP) and the Indonesian Military have been epanding their efforts to release the Susi Air pilot, Philip Mehrtens, who has been taken hostage by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) led by Egianus Kogoya.

In a press conference on Monday (3/6/23), Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan, the Head of the Public Information Bureau of the INP Headquarters' Public Relations Division, said that the Papua Regional Police, along with the Regional Government, local religious figures, and community leaders, have been working tirelessly to maintain a peaceful environment and prevent any loss of life.

Meanwhile, due to the KKB's changing location, the search area has been expanded to cover two districts, namely Nduga and Lanny Jaya.

"Currently, our efforts have been expanded to search (the pilot) in two districts, Nduga and Lanny Jaya. The broader search area may offer more valuable insights into the situation. It should be noted that the search and rescue operation for the pilot is open-ended, with no time limit imposed," said Police Senior Superintendent Faizal Ramadani, the Head of 2023 Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force.
