The Armed Criminal Group (KKB) led by Egianus Kogoya committed the murder of an 8-year-old child, identified only by intials MT whose father is the Chief of Pimbinon Village in Kuyugawe District, Lanny Jaya Regency, the 2023 Carstenz Peace Operation Task Force announced on Monday (3/6/23).

Police Senior Superintendent Faizal Ramdhani, the Head of 2023 Carstenz Peace Operation Task Force, said that the crime happened a week ago. 

Despite the language barrier, the team was able to gather information, including that the Kogoya-led KKB was carrying three long-barreled rifles, from the witnesses during the operation.

“The tragic event took place because ST, the Chief of the Village, refused to provide food assistance to the Kogoya group when they stopped over in his village. In response, his 8-year-old child was killed by Kogoya himself,” the task force head said.
