inp.polri.go.id - Puncak. Personnel of the 2026 Damai Cartenz Operation Task Force secured Catholic services during Lent at the Santa Elisabeth Church, Sinak District, Puncak Regency, Central Papua, on Saturday (4/4/2026). The event proceeded safely and under control.

This security measure is part of the Indonesian National Police (INP)'s efforts to provide a sense of security to the community, especially Catholics attending services. The presence of personnel at the location was also carried out with a humanistic approach to build rapport with the community.

The Head of the 2026 Damai Cartenz Operation, Inspector General Faizal Ramadhani, stated that securing religious activities is a priority for maintaining security and stability in the Papua region.

"We are committed to continuing to be present among the community to provide a sense of security, especially during religious services, so that people can carry out their prayers in peace," he said.

In addition, the Vice Head of the Cartensz 2026 Peaceful Operation, Senior Superintendent Adarma Sinaga, added that a humanistic approach is key to creating a conducive situation.

"We prioritize a persuasive and humanistic approach in every task we carry out, so that the community can directly feel the benefits of the police's presence," he said.

The results of the activity showed that the security for religious services ran safely and received a positive response from the community. The presence of officers was deemed effective in maintaining security stability in the Sinak District and providing a sense of comfort for worshippers.

This activity is part of the Carstensz 2026 Peace Operation's commitment to maintaining security and public order in Papua, ensuring a safe and peaceful environment.
