The Head of Public Information at the Indonesian National Police (INP) Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, declared that the security situation up to three days prior to Eid al-Fitr remained peaceful, orderly, and well-controlled. "In general, the security situation during the implementation of Operation Ketupat 2024 on Sunday, April 7, 2024, is peaceful, orderly, and under control," he said on Sunday (7/4/2024), as reported by antaranews.com. During Operation Ketupat 2024 on Saturday, INP  recorded 946 security disturbances, eight violations, nine natural disasters, and 34 public order disturbances. There were also 213 traffic accidents, resulting in 23 fatalities, 39 serious injuries, and 267 minor injuries, with material losses totaling Rp539,350,000. Enforcement efforts included 5,978 incidents of traffic violation enforcement, comprising 4,620 warnings and 1,358 electronic fines. INP remains vigilant, anticipating increased traffic on toll roads and main routes, Chief Trunoyudo said. He advised travelers to use rest areas for 30 minutes on toll roads. If rest areas are full, travelers can exit to arterial roads for rest without incurring additional toll charges. (mg/inp/pr/nm)
