Inp.polri.go.id - Medan. The Serdang Bedagai Sub-regional Police in North Sumatra has distributed hundreds of aid packages to residents affected by flooding in Bukit Cermin Hilir Village, Dolok Masihul District.
“123 aid packages, each containing 5 kg of rice, instant noodles, cooking oil, and eggs, were distributed to flood victims caused by the breach of the Sibaro River embankment,” said Serdang Bedagai Police Chief Superintendent Jhon Sitepu on Wednesday (29/1/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
He emphasized that the distribution is part of the police’s commitment to support communities during natural disasters, ensuring those affected receive the help they need.
In addition to the aid, police officers assisted in cleaning up the mud left behind by the flood.
The breach of the Sibaro River embankment on 28 January 2025 flooded 163 homes in Bukit Cermin and Dolok Sagala Villages, with water levels reaching up to 1 meter, as reported by village head Sumarji.
